Ms. Heidi Rodrigue 16-Year-old Senior representing South Lafourche High School was elected the Coroner of Lafourche Parish and was sworn in with Dr. John C. King, Coroner of Lafourche Parish. Heidi is planning on attending Nicholl's University for Nursing.
State Supreme Court Justice John Weimer gave the opening speech before the swearing-in.
“It provides an education opportunity for the young people,” Weimer said. “Hopefully they’ll learn about and come to appreciate our system of democracy. Possibly, it will inspire them to participate in public service or at least be more informed citizens.”
Ms. Heidi received her Coroner badge and rode with Forensic Investigator Angie Matherne and was able to attend the Death & Bones Conference where over 110 law enforcement and coroner's offices attended. She enjoyed her short term and was fascinated with the duties of the Coroner. Congratulations Heidi!!

Ms. Emily Barbera, 17-year-old Junior representing E.D. White was elected Coroner of Lafourche Parish and was sworn in with Dr. John C. King, Coroner of Lafourche Parish.
Ms. Barbera toured the Coroner's Office, assisted in performing radiology exam on a case and learned all about the functions of the Coroner's Office.
April 27, 2015 Lexus Robertson, representing Thibodaux High School. She shadowed Dr. John C. King, Coroner in the morning and had a tour of the Coroner's Office and helped prepare for a case scheduled later in the day. Thank you Lexus!!
